About me
Hello, and welcome to my profile. My name is Kelly and I am a Gestalt counsellor. The search for the right service or person, can be a daunting process, I hope that the information I provide is clear and welcoming.
We live in anxiety inducing times. Trying to manage all your responsibilities can fell like a uphill challenge, sometimes its difficult to keep going. If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, family-issues or burnout, counselling with me is a place to speak freely without judgement, pressure or distractions. I aim to be inclusive and work in a neurodivergent - affirming way. I create a warm atmosphere, where you are the focus, so you are free to express yourself at your own pace.
I use Gestalt and person - centred skills to aid exploration of how you view yourself, your situation and how you relate to others. I empathise and aim to join your perspective, to create a validating experience. I use techniques which challenge you to view things from a different perspective, see your untapped potential, to enable you to find solutions that work for you.
What to expect from sessions can vary depending on what you need. We could use creative methods and tools if you are feeling stuck for the right words to express yourself. We can look at information about different theories to understand how our minds and bodies work. I love how each experience with clients is a unique journey. Counselling does not have to be stiff or serious all the time, however it touches on serious themes and there will be weeks that are more emotional than others. We can use humour and celebrate your achievements as they develop.
I am currently accepting new clients for online sessions.

I am always doing research and personal development. Some training I have undertaken recently is; ADHD summit looking at new research to understand how ADHD impacts women, in particular how to build confidence, trauma and how it impacts the body, and understanding Autism and interoception.
I have 17 years of experience working in supportive and caring roles in a variety of settings. This work in health and social care and educational settings led me to pursue further training and development in mental health.
I have experience with neurodivergence (Autism & ADHD), learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and chronic pain. I am passionate about providing therapy to those who may face extra barriers when seeking mental health support. I am experienced with communication aids, and working with people who need physical support from a carer.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
