About me
Psychological Therapy and EMDR-Informed Coaching for Transformative Change
Welcome to my page. You might be feeling overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, or unsure how to move on from painful or traumatic experiences. You may be stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, struggling with relationships, facing a specific block that is holding you back, or simply exhausted from trying to hold everything together.
I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist, who offers in-depth therapy and goal-focused coaching, helping you understand what is keeping you stuck and guiding you towards sustainable change. Whether you want to heal from the past, address current challenges or build a future that feels more aligned with your values, we will work together to get you there.
What Brings People to Work with Me
People seek my support for many reasons. Sometimes it is to process a significant life event, such as bereavement, a relationship ending, or a traumatic experience. Other times, it is to work on long-standing difficulties: destructive patterns in relationships, persistent self-criticism, chronic low mood, or distressing obsessions and compulsions. You might want to explore the impact of your past, so it no longer overshadows the present, or navigate a life transition, such as becoming a parent.
Coaching clients often come with a more specific goal, such as:
- Preparing for a big career move
- Feeling blocked about launching a new business project
- Procrastinating on finishing a qualification
- Rebuilding self-belief after a redundancy
- Clarifying their next steps after returning from parental leave.
They want to remove blocks, rekindle motivation and purpose, and build the skills to grow in the direction they choose.
Whether through therapy or coaching, my role is to offer a structured and confidential space where we make sense of the origins of your distress and/or the patterns that hold you back. With insight, evidence-based techniques and a clear plan, you will be able to respond to challenges more effectively, make decisions with greater confidence and gain more control over your life.
My Professional Background and Approach
I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience in the NHS and private practice. I have a doctorate-level training in mental health and psychological theory and spent most of my career working in NHS community mental health teams (a service for adults with more complex psychological problems) and trauma services. This enables me to draw on a range of evidence-based approaches to support clients with diverse needs and backgrounds.
My main approaches are:
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), which helps process and reduce the impact of trauma and distressing events
- EMDR-informed coaching, which integrates EMDR principles into a structured, goal-focused format to help overcome specific blocks, enhance performance, and move towards personal or professional goals.
- Schema Therapy, which helps identify and change deep-rooted patterns that cause ongoing difficulties
I also use ideas from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), tailoring the work to your needs.
Special interests include trauma-focused therapy and financial therapy (helping people improve their relationship with money by exploring the psychological patterns that influence financial decisions).
I see therapy and coaching as working partnerships. I bring psychological expertise, you bring your knowledge of yourself, and together we create meaningful change. I show up as a real person, as well as a psychologist, sharing reflections from my own experiences when useful, offering honest feedback and welcoming humour in the process. Both therapy and coaching are creative work: we use thinking and imagination to find new perspectives, try fresh approaches, and step outside comfort zones. Whilst this can feel daunting, it can also be inspiring and life-changing.

Further information
Outside of work, you can usually find me out-of-doors, pottering in my garden, enjoying London's parks or venturing further into the countryside. I enjoy knitting and crochet and am a big believer in the benefits of creative processes for reducing stress and enhancing cognitive function. I like listening to audiobooks - mainly popular science and fantasy for diversion. Being a member of an international family, which is split between Germany and UK, means that I go back and forward quite a bit and when circumstances allow I enjoy travelling more generally.
