About me
Hello, I'm Katie
I am a neuro-divergent, psychotherapeutic counsellor. With history of Adoption, I have a special connection to grief and trauma and I feel comfortable holding the space for both.
Many of the people who find their way to me are neurodivergent, highly anxious or grieving individuals who have spent years holding things together for others. This is where I hold the space so you don't have to.
I offer a space to slow down, make sense of your experiences and really hear what you are saying. I don't intend to 'fix' you, we work together so your experiences feel healthy rather than dictating.
I offer indoor sessions in Birkdale and Bromborough as well as online and outdoor therapy. My outdoor practice can be enhanced by the presence of dogs.
(Please note: Outdoor work with dogs is only done where it is beneficial to your needs; this can be discussed during your intro call if this is something you're keen to explore).
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling from Red Kite Training & Therapy, a UKATA-registered training institute.
My training has spanned four years under one of TA’s leading Ecotherapists, which means my work, whether indoors or outdoors, is supported by an ecological mindset. That is not to say I will always use the ecological directly in our work together, however, this training has enhanced my intricate listening skills, noticing subtle details.
I am often described as someone who builds deep and genuine connections with people. I believe the therapeutic relationship is where the work happens; creating a space where you feel understood, supported and able to explore your inner world at your own pace.
Many of the people I work with have struggled with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, people-pleasing, or the lasting impact of earlier experiences.
As an adoptee diagnosed with ADHD, I understand how vital relationship, trust and consistency can be, and these are values I hold at the heart of the therapy space I offer.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I’m currently working towards my Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) accreditation with UKCP.
I know what it’s like to carry untold stories, silent grief and questions around identity and belonging.
I feel deeply connected to working with:
- Adoptees and those exploring their story, including parental death
- Neurodivergent individuals, including ADHD and autism
- People facing fertility challenges, miscarriage, or pregnancy loss
- Those moving through grief and loss in all its forms
These are not just areas of interest; I have walked alongside these experiences in my own life. That insight shapes how I show up in the therapy room: with care, openness, and a commitment to truly hearing what might be difficult to say.
Other areas I have worked with:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Communication and relationship breakdown
- Low confidence and self esteem
- Team management
- Domestic abuse
- Bullying
