About me
Taking that step to see a counsellor can be hard; knowing that you might need some additional support but not knowing how to find the right person to talk to. As a qualified counsellor it is my role to provide you with the space to talk about what you might need to.
Counselling can help with anything that might be impacting how you feel - your mental health. From anxiety, depression, panic attacks to relationship difficulties, stress, bereavement or any other difficult feelings. You might just feel that you need space away from everyone you know to work out exactly how you are feeling.
You can choose to have counselling in what ever format suits you best - face to face, on line or on the telephone. All methods work and I am trained to deliver counselling in all three. My counselling room is based in Northamptonshire but I am also close to Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. Photos of my client room are in this profile so you can have a look at where we will be working. There is also easy parking.
I have personal experience that counselling can work having struggled with anxiety and panic attacks in the past. But I have also seen it with the clients I work with every day. Seeing the changes that they want to make in their life whether it is actual changes or the way they think about themselves is really inspirational.
To give you reassurance that your safety is my priority I am registered with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society. As a member this means they have checked all my qualifications and it provides me with a framework to ensure your safety and mine. They also ensure I am fully insured. For additional reassurance I am also DBS checked.
To ensure I can provide the right support for my clients I ensure I complete additional training throughout my work. For example I have trained specifically in anxiety, abuse, working shame, attachment theory, the inner child, male mental health, working with teens, bereavement and much more.
I have been lucky to work with a wide variety of people with different needs. From teenagers and young adults to people who are struggling later in life.
If you have any questions you would like to ask me please reach out and we can have a no obligation chat. If I am not the right person for you I might be able to refer you to someone else who may be more suitable.
