About me

Hello.  My name is Katie, thank you for taking the time to read my profile.  People come to see a counsellor for many different reasons. For you, it may be because you have noticed you are feeling very anxious, down or depressed or struggling with panic attacks.  You may be experiencing difficulties in your relationships or having to deal with your own anger or other peoples.  Perhaps you are a parent looking for someone for your teenager to talk through problems they are facing in their lives.

Perhaps there has been a recent event in your life which you are struggling to deal with such as a bereavement or the ending of a relationship or  you are having to make decisions and you don't know where to turn.

Whatever your personal reasons are I know that I will be able to help.  Taking that step of speaking to a counsellor can feel very daunting and scary, inviting someone you don't know into your own personal world.  However, I understand how challenging it can be and I will do my best to answer any concerns you may have and help you to feel comfortable.

Who Am I?
I am a fully trained, qualified and insured counsellor.  I am registered with the National Counselling Society and I promise to adhere to their ethical framework which ensures your safety and mine within our working relationship.  My personal skills are listening without any judgement and giving you the space to focus on you.

Talking to someone and being heard can almost sound too easy to help with the complex problems you may be experiencing, but it does work and is a powerful experience which can lead to positive change.

As well as working as a private counsellor I also volunteer for Mind in Cambridgeshire as a counsellor.  I have also undertaken additional training in bereavement having worked for Cruse and the Children and Adolescent Bereavement Service in Northamptonshire.

Who do I work with?
I work with anyone aged over 13 years old on a variety of different issues.  I have completed additional training to work with young people and have an enhanced DBS certificate.

If you would like to know more about the service I provide please get in touch with me or have a look at my website, www.katiebcounselling.co.uk.
