About me
Thank you for visiting my profile. Finding a counsellor can feel quite daunting and it is important you find the right person for you. So to help you let me tell you a little about myself.
I work with clients who are struggling with things like anxiety, depression or low mood. As well as life events such as bereavements, work difficulties or relationship conflicts. I know that counselling can help you deal with these issues and make life feel a little easier. I also have a special interest in working with male mental health and also younger women who are struggling with heightened anxiety
I am fully trained and qualified to work as a counsellor. I am registered with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society. This means they have checked my qualifications and checked I am insured. Being a member of a professional body is important to as it shows that your safety is a client is massively important to me
My number one priority is to provide you with a safe environment where you feel as comfortable as you can be. Let’s be honest - chatting to a stranger about your life can feel a bit weird so I want to make it feel as relaxing as I can for you. Sometimes you may be struggling with knowing how to express what’s going on, so I am a counsellor who asks questions and I use different creative techniques to help you.
There will be lots of different emotions going on during the counselling process and my role is to make sure you are ok during this process. I will be giving you lots of empathy and no judgement. Having the right counsellor should feel like you have your own cheerleader right in your corner.
To help me work with different issues I have completed lots of additional training in issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, depression, ADHD, bereavement in pregnancy as well as many other topics.
If you would like to know more information about me please do check out my website which is katiebcounselling.co.uk. I also post regularly on facebook and instagram (@ktbcounselling). These will help give you a bit more information about me and whether I am someone you would feel comfortable working with
Counselling is an investment in you and I know it can be expensive. To help with this I can offer sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis. I can also offer flexible appointments if you work shift patterns.
The sessions can be held face to face, on line or on the telephone.
I am fully trained in all methods. Finding the right method for you is so important
My counselling room is based in Northamptonshire but right on the border of Cambs and Lincs. So that means I am nice and close to Peterborough, Corby, Kettering, Huntingdon, Stamford etc
I work with a wide variety of people with different needs. From teenagers and young adults to people who are struggling later in life.
If you have any questions you would like to ask me please reach out and we can have a no obligation chat. If I am not the right person for you I might be able to refer you to someone else who may be more suitable.
