About me
Sometimes we all need a little bit of extra support to help us through difficult times. Life can be complicated to navigate and having a space to talk about these things is really precious.
People see counsellors for many different reasons and mainly it will be because they have noticed something is not quite right in their day to day life. Anxiety, depression, low self esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, panic attacks are some of the many things I have worked with in the counselling room. Your reasons for seeing a counsellor will be unique to you.
I am sure you would like to know what it’s like to work with me as your counsellor My number one priority is to provide you with an environment where you feel as comfortable as you can be. Seeing a stranger to talk about your personal life can feel very strange and I totally understand that it can take time to build trust
There are lots of different emotions going on during the counselling process and I will make sure that you are ok during the process. I try and make sure humour is also one of those emotions. I will be giving you tons of empathy and no judgement at all. I like to ask questions to make sure I totally understand what you are going through but also to help us look at things in different ways
Counselling is an investment in you and I know it can be expensive. To help with this I can offer sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis. I can also offer flexible appointments if you work shift patterns
My counselling room is based in Northamptonshire but right on the border of Cambs and Lincs. So that means I am nice and close to Peterborough, Corby, Kettering, Huntingdon, Stamford etc
To give you reassurance that your safety is my priority I am registered with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society. As a member this means they have checked all my qualifications and it provides me with a framework to ensure your safety and mine. They also ensure I am fully insured. For additional reassurance I am also DBS checked.
I work with a wide variety of people with different needs. From teenagers and young adults to people who are struggling later in life.
If you have any questions you would like to ask me please reach out and we can have a no obligation chat. If I am not the right person for you I might be able to refer you to someone else who may be more suitable.
