About me
When we are experiencing distressing feelings and emotions with nowhere to safely process them, it can become overwhelming. I offer a safe space outside of your everyday life to think about how you are coping with things. I will support you in navigating difficult emotions in a confidential and non-judgmental environment.
My name is Katie, I am a warm, intuitive and compassionate counsellor. I truly believe in the power and process of therapy to help you to heal, grow and deepen your understanding of yourself.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a therapist, I have worked with many individuals struggling with bereavement, trauma, self esteem, parenting, boundaries, addiction, anxiety and depression. I use both person centred and psychodynamic counselling approaches, but I’m also interested in less traditional viewpoints: I have spent over 15 years practising and teaching yoga and meditation around the world, and this naturally has a bearing on my therapeutic work.
I understand that it takes courage to face our distress and to entrust your thoughts with another person. It's important to find a therapist you feel safe with. Before we begin I’d like us to have a chat over a free 30-minute phone call so you can tell me a bit about what brings you to counselling and what you would like to achieve. There’s no pressure, it lets us see if we are a good fit. I offer therapy online only, in English and German.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
