About me

Why You Might Be Here
Many people come to these pages because they are trying to understand feelings of unhappiness, tackle destructive behaviours, or break patterns of unhelpful relationships. You might be experiencing unexplained symptoms and illness, a lack of motivation and satisfaction at work.  You may feel stuck, with previously enjoyable activities now seeming pointless or burdensome.

My Approach to Counselling
My way of being with you is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and a belief in your capacity to create meaningful change.

I have a deep commitment to making sure you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. I am grounded in warmth, collaboration, and respect for your unique story. Meaningful change happens when you can explore your experiences at your own pace and without judgement.

Alongside my counselling practice, I am an academic researcher specialising in the lived experiences of midlife. This work continually enriches my therapeutic perspective, reminding me of the complexity, resilience, and depth that shape the inner worlds for both men and women. Whether I’m in the therapy room or immersed in research, I’m guided by a commitment to up-to-date knowledge, with ethical, reflective practice.

When you are ready for the next step, I am here with a safe and supportive space to explore what matters most to you. You don't need to be in crisis to gain from counselling. If you would benefit from being with a thoughtful, depth-oriented therapist, grounded in existential philosophy, come to counselling to explore what matters in your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

Staying abreast of the latest research and advancements in counselling is essential for any therapist, and I am committed to maintaining a high standard of knowledge and practice.

I am midway through a research-based Master of Arts degree and I see this as further steps to enhance the quality of service I provide. This commitment is designed to deepen and broaden my approach, allowing me to offer a more philosophical perspective on meaning, purpose, identity, and existence, as well as to strengthen both my clinical and academic expertise.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information

Client Experiences and Outcomes
Many of my clients have expressed that simply having the chance to speak openly in a supportive and impartial environment, without being offered immediate solutions, has brought significant relief. They have valued the empathy and understanding that underpin our sessions, finding comfort in being truly heard and seen.

By the conclusion of their therapeutic journey with me, clients often report that the process has been both beneficial and transformative, helping them to achieve meaningful changes in their lives. I have observed improvements in mood within just a few sessions, and, over time, have witnessed clients make life-changing decisions as a result of our work together. For many, engaging in counselling has been described as the best investment they have ever made for their personal wellbeing.

Taking the step to attend counselling can be enough to begin feeling more alive and to experience relief. You deserve professional and high quality support throughout your journey.
