About me
Hello, I’m Katherine (she/her), a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (MBACP) working online and in South West London.
My aim as a therapist is to create a safe, open, and collaborative environment where you can talk freely and begin to make sense of your experiences, whether you are currently facing acute distress or are simply curious to learn more about yourself.
I have experience supporting clients with a range of issues, including identity, self-esteem, loss, and change. I aim to offer an inclusive and affirming therapeutic space and welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities.
If you have any questions or would like to explore whether counselling feels right for you, I offer a free 15-minute introductory session via phone or Zoom, with no obligation.
Training, qualifications & experience
Alongside my private practice, I have worked as a therapist across a range of public sector settings, including charities, low-cost counselling services, and the NHS. I also have experience supporting clients with more acute mental health needs through my work on a psychiatric ward.
Before training as a therapist, I spent ten years working in marketing and held the role of Operations Director for a global interior design firm. This background means I’m familiar with the demands of workplace pressures, leadership, and life transitions.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I’m interested in the connection between our physical and emotional wellbeing and can sometimes explore this in the therapy room where it feels relevant and supportive.
I’m also an avid yogi and hold a yoga teacher training qualification (200YTT). Where helpful and with your consent, I may gently draw on aspects of this in our work together, such as breathwork, meditation, or simple, grounding movement.
Outside of my work, I enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, especially going for walks with my dog.
