About me
I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, with 20 years experience working in NHS mental health services and private practice.
If you're reading this then you or someone you care about is probably hurting and in need of help. You may be feeling overwhelmed by worries and anxiety. It might be that you’re not the person, parent or partner you want to be, and feel like your failing. You may be struggling for a number of factors, including: past traumatic experiences, current day stressors and family issues. You need support to make meaningful changes so you can feel calm and live the life you desire. I offer a safe space for you to share and feel heard.
I have a special interest in helping people overcome anxiety, in particular, OCD, Emetophobia (fear of vomiting), Generalised Anxiety Disorder (worry), PTSD, Health Anxiety, panic attacks and specific fears/phobias. I feel honoured to get to know a client's deepest thoughts and feelings, to help them process past painful experiences and support them to create the life they want.
I offer day-time appointments Monday-Thursday. I can see you virtually or face-to-face in my clinic in the beautiful Wrest Park, Silsoe, Bedfordshire. You can decide the length and frequency of treatment to suit your circumstances.
Psychological difficulties I work with:
- Anxiety, including Generalised Anxiety Disorder (worry), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Emetophobia (fear of vomiting), Health Anxiety, panic and specific fears/phobias.
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Low self-esteem, feelings of failure
- Stress, feeling overwhelmed and exhausted
- Professional issues and career transition
- Relationship and interpersonal difficulties
- Family Issues
- Feeling sad and low mood
- Adjustment to becoming a parent in the antenatal and postnatal period
- Common young childhood difficulties, such as feeding, toileting, sleep, tantrums and separation issues
- Children experiencing worries and distress in relation to school, peer and sibling relationships and adjusting to changes in family circumstances
- Children struggling with anger and presenting with challenging behaviours (aggression, screaming, hitting, biting, etc.)
Unfortunately, I am unable to provide the right level of support to respond to crisis situations and do not work with school refusal, severe depression, deliberate self-harm, suicidal thoughts or eating disorders in my private practice.
Therapeutic Approach:
I am able to draw on a number of different therapeutic approaches, including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Compassion-Based Therapy
- Person-Centred Psychotherapy
- Schema Therapy
By getting to know you and the issues you're struggling with, we can work together to find the right therapy for you.

I also offer supervision, consultation and training to professionals working privately, in the NHS and local authority.
