About me
I realise that for some people seeking therapy can feel overwhelming. I offer a confidential, safe and non-judgemental space in which you can begin to open up about your life and start to explore what may be going on for you, both at a conscious and unconscious level.
Sometimes in life we can find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, aware of things which we want to change, yet caught in patterns of repetition and bouts of shame, frustration or self-loathing. You may have a clear sense of what causes you pain, such as relationship issues, bereavement, work-related stress, difficult or traumatic experiences in childhood or adult life. Or perhaps you don’t know why you feel unfulfilled or low, but find yourself avoiding intimacy, bingeing, restricting food intake, overworking, or engaging in patterns of addiction. Together, we can explore your unique experiences in order for you to better understand yourself and develop more fulfilling patterns and relationships.
I am a fully qualified BACP registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with an MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling from UCL Birkbeck. Psychodynamic therapy usually involves working together long term, building a strong therapeutic relationship so that we can carefully explore how your experiences impact upon your unconscious thought processes. I therefore generally offer long term therapy for one year or more, though I am also able to offer brief, time-limited therapy to address a current situation.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and have extensive experience working with adolescents as well as adults.

About Me
I work with clients from a variety of backgrounds, usually struggling with issues around self-esteem, relationships, and anxiety. I have extensive experience supporting people with anxiety and low mood and with clients who work in highly pressurised workplaces. I can offer sessions outside regular office hours (evenings, weekends and, when possible, early morning sessions) to fit in with busy workloads.
I have a particular interest working with issues related to intimacy, sexuality and gender, with both LGBTQ+ and heterosexual clients, and have worked as an honorary therapist for an LBTQIA+ therapy service for several years. Additionally, I am experienced working with neurodiversity, and am able to tailor my approach, when necessary, to meet the needs of neurodiverse clients.
I adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics and maintain regular supervision to ensure that my work provides the highest quality of care.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer a free initial 10-minute phone meeting to discuss your needs and to consider whether we might be a good fit. If so, we would book an initial 60-minute consultation session so that I can gain a broader picture of your past experiences, current feelings, and what you would like to work on. After this we would meet, either online or in-person for weekly sessions lasting 50 minutes.
My practice is based on Caledonian Road, just 7 minutes’ walk from King’s Cross Station and Caledonian road and Barnsbury station (Mildmay line).
Do email or call me to arrange a initial consultation.
