About me
Sometimes we reach a point of uncertainty in our lives, we experience times when we’re struggling to cope with everyday life, or sometimes, we simply just want to be heard. I provide a warm and non-judgemental, safe space, to ‘walk alongside you,’ for you to navigate and understand these difficult, questionable times you may be experiencing. A space that encourages you to express yourself freely, to feel truly heard and accepted, guiding you through inner change
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, you may be feeling emotions that you haven’t experienced before or finding things difficult to cope with and hard to understand. Do you sometimes feel that you just want somewhere safe to offload or explore your life experiences? Somewhere that feels warm, in an accepting environment, with someone to listen to you, where you feel heard. This is something I can truly offer you: a warm, non-judgemental, accepting, empathic safe space for you to explore any emotional feelings, thoughts or issues that you wish to explore. Somewhere you can feel completely accepted for being yourself, be unconditionally listened to, without any judgment, which in turn will enable your personal growth and flourishing. I have experience of working with anxiety, depression, stress, low self esteem, low confidence, relational issues, trauma, bereavement, anger and other presenting issues as listed below.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, it takes a lot of courage to reach out. Taking these first steps to reaching out can sometimes be the hardest part. I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, predominantly using a Person Centered Approach to help you explore the issues you choose to bring to counselling, whilst also integrating other theories, if required. I work using a collaborative approach, which means we will work together to explore what it is you choose to bring to counselling. I predominantly use the Person Centered approach to help you feel empowered, as I believe you hold all the answers within yourself towards feeling fulfilled. It is by my walking alongside you in your journey, that I will help you towards you working through your uncertain times.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy and abide by their ethical framework. I have experience working with adults, OAPs and young people aged 12-18 years old.
The Introductory Process
Taking the first step to reach out to find a counsellor that suits your needs can feel daunting. It is my aim to help make the process as comfortable as possible for you. An important aspect of counselling is you finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with, to be able to explore openly what it is you are bringing to counselling. Firstly, I will provide a 20-minute introductory phone call, which will be free of charge. This introductory call can be arranged upon 48 hours of receiving your email or telephone enquiry.
It is during this time, you can ask me any questions you need answering in relation to the counselling process. I can also obtain further understanding about you and your needs. Ultimately, the introductory phone call is time when we can find out more about one another. It is during this call you will be able to see if I would be the right counsellor for you, if you feel like I am, then we can arrange your first session.
Location
I work face-to-face in Sutton Coldfield, I also work online and via telephone. Sessions can be held weekly or fortnightly to suit your needs. My availability is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday mornings. If there is an alternative weekday evening you require, please do contact me to enquire re my availability, as there is some flexibility in my timings. I also offer a concessionary rate to student/trainee counsellor.
I am happy to answer any questions which you can ask me via email/via telephone or during our introductory telephone call.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
