About me

Hello, I’m Kate, and welcome to Believe Therapy. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, so my aim is always to put you at ease. From our very first conversation, I will take the time to build a trusting relationship and offer a safe, supportive space where you will feel heard, understood, and validated.

Why People Come to Therapy
There are many reasons people choose therapy. You may be wanting to process the impact of past trauma, explore relationship difficulties, or find ways to manage anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem. Whatever has brought you here, we will work together to explore your goals and move at a pace that feels right for you.

How I Work
My core discipline is Transactional Analysis, a therapeutic approach that helps you make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and understand how past experiences may still be influencing your life today. As an integrative therapist, I also draw on other therapeutic models and techniques, which allows me to create a unique approach tailored specifically to your needs.

What to Expect in Sessions
Our first session will be an opportunity to get to know each other and talk about what has brought you to therapy. This is a gentle space to explore your hopes, goals, or any concerns you may have about the process. Sessions typically last 60 minutes and are held either online or in person (depending on your preference and availability). We will go at your pace, there is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with.

Why Believe Therapy
The name of my practice, Believe Therapy, is personal to me. Through my own therapeutic journey, I began to truly believe in myself, and now my passion is to help others find that same belief within themselves. I invest my time, energy, and care into supporting clients on their path to greater self-awareness, healing, and confidence.

Next Steps
If you would like to find out more about how I can support you, please feel free to get in touch. I’d be happy to answer any questions and discuss how we might work together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m a Professional Registrant Member of the NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society) and have trained extensively to support people through a wide range of challenges. My counselling and psychotherapy training took place at the Ellesmere Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Training in Hull, where I developed a strong foundation in both Transactional Analysis and integrative approaches.

My qualifications include:

  • Level 6 Diploma in Transactional Analysis and Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling
  • Level 7 Diploma in Transactional Analysis and Integrative Psychotherapy
  • BSc (Hons) Psychology (Upper Second Class)

This training has given me the skills to work flexibly and adapt therapy to suit each person’s unique needs. I combine my academic background with real-life experience of supporting clients, so that you feel listened to, understood, and guided in a way that feels right for you.
