About me
I am Kat (short for Katarzyna, a Polish version of Katherine).
I hold BSc Humanistic Counselling from Metanoia Institute and Group Facilitation Training from The Gestalt Centre. I work humanistically, using Gestalt Theory as the backbone for my practice. I enjoy both individual work and group therapies.
Only you know what it is like to be you. And if you are struggling, reaching out for support is the sign of strength.
Sometimes life gets challenging, and it might feel difficult to find a way out. Therapy has a potential to offer support in difficult situations. I am here to help you cross this path, no matter how challenging it is, I will try to walk alongside you.
Often, a new path emerges with the mindful, supportive and grounded emotional process.
I will hold the space for you.
I attune emotionally to you and the space between us. I am empathic, grounded, responsive and use humour therapeutically.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
As a Gestalt therapist.
- I use the body-mind connection to explore all aspects of self. I draw from my yoga/meditation/climbing practices to get the felt sense of body and emotions. I practice embodiment as a therapist to assist you with your own embodiment.
- I use mindfulness therapeutically, which can include meditation, if appropriate. I will probably mention it once or twice.
- I will ground myself in the present moment. I will also encourage you to do so. By concentrating on what is happening now, we can become aware and reflect on habitual behavioural patterns.
- I work relationally and collaboratively, which means that the therapeutic relationship becomes a tool for growth and change.
- We will explore your wider environment to bring awareness to the conditions that influence you now or influenced you in the past.
I have experience with the following therapeutic goals: managing anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, anger, healing trauma, disconnection, working with issues around neurodivergence, social belonging, social anxiety, isolation, masking, and face-blindness.
