About me
Hello! I am a therapeutic counsellor, certified Brainspotting practitioner and couples counsellor. I work in a trauma-informed way with individuals and partners who want to feel secure in their bodies and relationships, reconnect with various parts of themselves, and live life on their own terms.
What our work together may involve:
- Warm, honest, two-way engagement. I work relationally.
- Trauma-informed approach to where you are, at your pace. Stabilisation first.
- Brainspotting - a neuroexperiential model to access and release trauma held in the body.
- A plan that we create together, with an approach that may work for you. I integrate Transactional Analysis, IFS, Shadow work, Inner Child work, narrative therapy, etc.
More than anything, I am interested to meet you exactly where you are. I believe that true presence and attunement are what seals the work.
Training, qualifications & experience
I use the trauma-informed lens as I integrate various approaches with Transactional Analysis. I deliver the Stabilisation Phase of trauma therapy as I combine TA models with the STAIR protocol and grounding strategies. I also use Brainspotting as part of the Processing stage.
I have a BSc in Psychology and an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling specialising in Transactional Analysis. I also hold certificates in Grief and Bereavement Counselling, Brainspotting Phase 1 and Phase 2, Rewind Therapy, and Couples Counselling.
I am committed to continuous self-development. I am currently studying an MSc in Children's Psychology because I believe that learning never ends.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
