About me
Are you going through a challenging time at the moment? Has something happened unexpectedly that has turned everything upside-down? Or is an event in the past still getting in the way of you living your life to the full?
When dealing with times like these it is natural to feel confused, upset and alone. Even if you have friends or family to talk to, it can help to have a trained professional who can offer you the dedicated time and space to listen without judgement and work through your feelings.
As a trauma informed counsellor, I can help with a wide range of issues including:
- Low self-esteem, low self-confidence.
- Anxiety, overthinking, people pleasing.
- Depression, low motivation, stress.
- Flashbacks, triggers, nightmares, and unhealthy coping mechanisms.
- Childhood trauma, neglect, family breakdowns.
I work with the challenges these may present in your everyday life and the impact on your relationships with friends, family, colleagues and also romantic relationships.
I have a gentle, down to earth nature and work to build a warm, open, and trusting counselling relationship with my clients. As an experienced counsellor, I have worked with clients from of a variety different backgrounds. I offer a space where you are accepted, valued, and heard.
My main approach is person centred which means I work in a collaborative way, that centres around you. I also use CBT and creative techniques, to ensure we can exploring the issues you bring, in a way that you feel comfortable with and meets your needs.
I have background is in supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual violence including childhood sexual abuse. I have extensive training and experience in these areas. I work with issues such coercive control, gaslighting and many more, and the long-term effects these may present.
Together, we can work to help you process and understand your experiences and find a way to move forward. I can support you in learning the tools you need, to move forward and make positive changes, aspiring to come to a resolution and create a better quality of life. Counselling can be a challenging journey but also a wonderful and empowering process leading to a more fulfilling future.
Clients who have had counselling with me, have remarked on how they have learnt a lot about themselves, grown in confidence and felt empowered to make the right decisions. In a way that felt gratifying and organic rather than clinical.
Do I sound like the counsellor for you? If so, I'd be glad to hear from you. I am contactable via email, telephone and text message. If calling, please leave a voicemail and I will call you back as soon as I can.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
