About me
Hello, I'm Karen. I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor working with adults (18 and over). I can support you with a wide range of issues, for example anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, anger, etc. and have a special interest in all forms of loss, grief and bereavement.
I offer a caring and safe space where you can talk freely about anything and make sense of your questions, worries and doubts, your aspirations and wishes, knowing that I will walk with you all the way to the point where you decide you can continue your journey on your own.
I came to counselling from a realisation that we go through so many losses in our lives which are often not acknowledged or processed. As a child the upheaval of moving from country to country every few years made me aware of the importance of acknowledging and being allowed to grieve all forms of loss. It also highlighted issues about identity, belonging, uprootedness and the importance of having an 'inner home'.
This is why I developed a particular interest in loss, grief and bereavement counselling. I am also experienced in working with a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship problems and anger but I can equally support you if you want to explore questions around the bigger picture, such as your place in the world or what life means to you.
Together we will discuss and agree on what you would like to get out of counselling and take it from there. Whether this means just a one-off session or longer term work, I can accommodate your needs. I understand that things change, your needs may change and we will work with these changes. At your pace.
So if you are looking for flexibility, a caring, non-judgmental and confidential space for you to explore what is on your mind and in your heart, please get in touch.
