About me

I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist, counselling individuals and couples. I am a Relationship and a Psychosexual Therapist (PST), both Relate trained. I also specialize in working with individuals who have a difficult relationship with sex and porn. I am responsive to your individual needs, combining therapeutic orientations when appropriate, for each unique individual.

I offer:

Therapy for Individuals: I help people who find they are struggling with every day situations. This may be a result of current or past; Abuse (Physical, Emotional, Sexual or Controlling/Coercive Control, 'Gaslighting'); Anxiety; Addiction; Adverse Childhood experiences; Anger; Bereavement; Depression; Gender; Guilt; Intimacy; Loss; Pain and illness; Relationships; Self Esteem; Separating; Shame; Sexuality; Sexual difficulties; Work problems.

Couple or Relationship therapy: I help people who are experiencing problems in their relationships, of any kind; e.g. as a couple or with family members.

Most couples go through phases when their sex life is not what they would like it to be. Counselling with a sexual focus may help you if you are experiencing difficulties and can help to improve your physical intimacy. Alternatively .........

Psychosexual therapy (PST) may help. I provide therapy for couples, individuals and/or partners who have sexual problems; Pain, Erection problems, Delayed ejaculation, Premature ejaculation, Unable to orgasm, Absence of / inhibited sexual desire, Porn induced erectile problems, etc. I work with people to help them become more present in their bodies and more connected to their erotic selves.

Compulsions / Addiction: I help people who feel they have compulsive or out of control porn / sexual behaviour. I also work with 'partners of' or 'family members of' the addicts and the and impact it has on them. [Qualified; Level 5 Diploma in Sex Addiction Counselling via the Laurel Centre, one of the only two institutions in the UK providing this qualification.]

I also work clinically with those who may be at risk of 'or who have crossed the line (offended), by viewing/making illegal images online. Research evidences that offering specialist treatment not only assists in the management and reduction of risk, but also contributes to the ultimate ideal of reducing the prevalence of sexual offences against adults or children.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

COSRT
College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT)

COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.

All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
