Karen Keys MBACP
Counselling for depression, anxiety, bereavement and relationship or marriage problems. Couples and individuals.
I am currently offering sessions on Zoom, Skype or over the telephone for £50 for individuals and £60 for couples. I am an experienced, qualified, Relate trained Counsellor working with couples on relationship issues and with individuals on stress, anger problems, anxiety, depression, bereavement and many other issues.
I will listen with kindness and compassion, without judging or imposing solutions, while providing space for you to explore your inner feelings. Working together, counselling helps you to untangle your emotions, sort out your worries and take the vital steps toward getting the life you want and the happiness you need. When working with individuals I look to combine counselling methods, which may be different for the needs of each unique client.
In relationship counselling there can be many factors. You may have been hurt by infidelity or you may keep having the same arguments with your partner, round and around. I work with you to determine what you want out of your partnership, the issues and patterns that hold you back or are at the heart of disagreements and we look at how to move forward into the future.
I have trained in couple counselling with Relate who are the UK's gold standard for relationship counselling.
Where I work
I’m currently only working on Zoom and finding that I’m now not really noticing the difference from meeting face to face with both old and new clients. It also works well for couples.
When I am able to work face to face my counselling room in Woodford Green is convenient, confidential and accessible from the Tube or public transport. It is an easy 10 minute walk from South Woodford Tube station (I have timed it!) and around the same from Woodford tube station. There is free parking outside.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
