About me
Hello, I'm Karen. I'm a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years experience of working in mental healthcare. I've worked with people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties arising from life events, relationships, trauma and work‑related experiences.
I work from the perspective that emotional struggle is a natural, understandable response to adversity. Many people can reach a point where things feel unhelpful, confusing or hard to manage.
Therapy provides a space to slow things down, make sense of what's happening, and develop new ways of responding that feel more supportive and aligned with what matters most to you.
I offer a warm, compassionate, supportive space to help you explore your difficulties, build understanding, and develop confidence towards your therapy goals.
I can provide support in relation to a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties. I have additional interest in working to support women’s mental health and wellbeing during mid-life and menopause.
Our work together would be collaborative, with an agreed approach to therapy which fits your needs, at your pace.
If it sounds like working together could be a good fit for you, please do get in touch to arrange an initial call.
Training, qualifications & experience
I offer a range of evidence‑based therapies, including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR), within a relational, trauma-informed, integrative approach.
Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (2020); Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Psychology (Therapies); Postgraduate Diploma in CBTp; BSc (Hons) in Psychology & Sociology.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
