(MBACP) MSc. Humanistic Counsellor & Psychotherapist

About me

Easy to talk to, open minded humanistic therapist, with 10+yrs of experience working predominantly with clients sufferring with deep anxiety as they face life choices they don't know how to process. I specialise in helping my clients reframe their circumstances into less daunting prospects where they can finally feel they have a clear set of manageable options that transforms their despair into hope as they finally get to see some light at the end of the tunnel. At which point we work together to build the necessary confidence, courage and discernment for you to make the right choices to move forward with your life - no matter how hard those choices might be.

Knowing that - I truly appreciate how daunting the first step can be to reach out for help - so if you are suffering from psychological distress that is no longer bearable, whether it is as a result of constant anxiety, depression, nihilistic despair, social anxiety, or rooted in longer term issues such as low self esteem, feeling alienated or like you don't belong, and these chronic issues have recently got unmanageable and you feel you need some additional support, then please rest assured that I can help and your call will be received with sensitivity & compassion.

My approach is rooted in a deep-held respect for my clients, and I believe what we all need most is to be seen, heard, & understood – and ultimately recognised, valued, and accepted for who we understand ourselves to be.  This requires the healing presence of a non-judgmental, emotionally attuned, and psychologically available therapist, who has a genuine desire to understand what it means to be you – this is exactly what you can expect from me - week in, week out.

There is no shame in admitting that we all face struggles during our life, where our problems challenge us on a level that forces us to confront the very limits of our capability. When we are confronted by such overwhelming stressors - they can often threaten the very core of our sense of Self & Identity and curtail our ability to act. It is in these moments when we find ourselves needing to swallow our pride and to reach out for help.

If you are looking for someone to talk to, who has a genuine passion about helping you in whatever way best suits you, whether its to find the necessary courage and self-belief to move forward in your life, or maybe something more deep rooted such as discovering a newfound sense of purpose and belonging, or simply seeking a new perspective from which to view and address your problems - whatever the issue please feel free to call or drop me a line so we can explore how we might work together.

With that in mind, it is my belief that the quality of the relationship between client and therapist is the most important, and so I offer a free initial consultation on zoom (20-30mins) to help you make the all important decision of who to put your trust in and work with.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
