She gives you confidence by challenging some of your thoughts or comments in a positive and constructive way. This allows you to see things in a completely different way and find practical, worthwhile solutions. I'd never considered counselling in my life, but it was one of the best decisions I made. I would 100% recommend Juliet. ''

A little bit more about me:

Along with over 25 years of supporting adults I also have extensive experience providing experiential therapeutic support to children and young people.  My background really is quite diverse as I've worked within the criminal justice/leaving care system, troubled family agenda, integrated family support, child protection team and provided counselling to young people in rehab.

I have overseen several mentoring projects supporting young people at risk of custodial sentences and those who are re-integrating back into society.

I have years of experience working in schools providing counselling and family support.  I'm currently based in a primary school as a Family Therapist where I have been for over 8 years.  I hold a number of cases dealing with issues that include emotional behaviour, anger, Autism, bereavement, removal from the family home and attachment anxiety.  This immensely satisfying role has brought a great deal of diversity to my counselling career!

I enjoy providing family therapy, taking a holistic approach to identifying issues within the home, helping parents to change their behaviour and looking at diet and basic parenting techniques (this applies to looked after children also).  It's not easy being a parent/carer but I'll help you to make those positive changes if you're ready!

For those families caught up in the legal process of separation/divorce I have worked alongside Cafcass and Solicitors to provide Supervised Contact to those who have been court ordered and have delivered one to one parenting programs which are tailor made to meet individual cases.

I help clients to build stronger relationships with each other (where possible) and help to understand the impact this is having on the children. I have also delivered the court ordered Separated Parents Information Program to many parents which has seen positive outcomes.  ** Please note I do not work for Cafcass I am privately funded by clients.

I enjoyed being a tutor/assessor for an online children's mental health course for Westminster College.  I also spent a year working as a counsellor for a global counselling service.

As a Clinical Supervisor (please see my clinical supervision profile) I provide supervision for those working in the counselling field and to staff managing pastoral departments in schools.

  • I hold an up to date enhanced DBS, professional indemnity and liability insurance along with extensive evidence of multi agency safeguarding training.

Please don't hesitate to pick up the phone and contact me for an informal chat about how therapy may be of benefit to you.  It would be lovely to hear from you!!

Further information

What to expect at your first session with me:

The initial session is a great opportunity for you to see if I'm the right therapist for you.  I encourage clients to ask questions or to look at my qualifications/reviews to determine if I am the best person for their needs.  If I'm not I will signpost you to another therapist.  I also look at some basic information about you such as presenting issues or any other pressing issues you wish to make me aware of on the day.

If you feel at ease and happy to continue then together we can look at how many sessions you feel you'll need.  Many clients, for example, block book 6 sessions.

I'll discuss with you an outline of what the following sessions will consist of.

Child therapy will include self-esteem, drawing on play and art therapy.

For those going through the transition into retirement, I take a more philosophical approach to meaning and purpose building personal confidence and ultimately feeling more empowered to manage life.

Whichever therapy you choose you will then be given a contract and a consent form to sign via email.  Terms and conditions are available on request.

I work in person on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at my therapy room based in the heart of Staffordshire ST15 8RL

Alternatively you can see me ONLINE over Zoom or Skype.  I offer a premium service where you will be offered an online appointment within 48 hours.

I hope that you will enjoy working with me as I will with you!
