About me
- Life can be challenging and what we notice is the impact on how we feel. Those feelings often present as over thinking, avoidance, seeking reassurance, low mood, low motivation, feeling overwhelmed, stressed, sad, angry or a sense of loss. Sometimes its just an uncomfortable feeling and we need help to join the dots to find the underlying issues.
- We can explore 'your' reality and the influence that your friends/family/intimate relationships/childhood/life experiences and/or work systems are having on your current issues. Drawing on past/present, exploring thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
- By understanding ourselves, it empowers us to make different and healthier choices rather than responding from that unhealthy default setting.
- With over 16 years of experience, working with a wide range of clients, I offer a personable, genuine, interactive and directive style of therapy.
- I work collaboratively with clients, asking questions to develop my understanding and together working to seek solutions - moving towards making positive change.
- My approach combines a range of therapeutic techniques including Systemic, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis, CBT, Solution Focused an Person Centred, including concepts from Acceptance and Commitment/Compassion Focused therapies. Dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self esteem to name a few. I have worked as a couple therapist for Relate, a therapist in schools supporting staff and patents and a cancer and bereavement specialist for Macmillan.
- My knowledge and understanding, combined with my training, allows me to tailor the therapy to suit your personal requirements.
- In 2014 I set up my own practice based in Southend-on sea where I provide in room, online and telephone sessions.
- I work with adults 21 years and over, LGBTQ+ clients, couples and individuals.
- What Next? If you are considering therapy because you realise that you are unable to do this on your own, then please message me. Following your enquiry, I offerer a telephone conversation we we can discuss your needs and concerns. Alternatively, you can message me with any questions that you may have. Or, simply book an initial appointment.
- Look forward to hearing from you.
