About me

I have a special focus on bereavement and loss, helping individuals navigate grief in all its forms. Whether you’re dealing with the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or any significant life change, I offer a person-centred approach that honours your unique journey.

But grief is just one part of life’s challenges, and my work extends to anyone seeking support with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship issues, or simply feeling overwhelmed. My approach is tailored to you—because I believe that you are the expert in your own life. Together, we can work towards greater clarity, healing, and emotional well-being at your own pace.

How Sessions Work

Our sessions will take place in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment—whether in person, online, or over the phone. I offer a warm, relaxed space where you can talk openly and feel truly heard.

Sessions typically last 50 minutes and can be scheduled weekly, fortnightly, or at a pace that suits you.

If you’re looking for a friendly and supportive space to talk, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to get in touch with any questions or to arrange an initial session.

I offer In-Person Sessions in East Ardsley, Wakefield, or if you prefer I can also offer both Online or Telephone Counselling throughout the UK

How Can Counselling Help

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I offer a warm, accepting and confidential space where you can freely express your thoughts and emotions. I understand that our present experiences are often shaped by past events, and I'm here to help you explore these influences. Together, we'll work toward gaining insights that can positively impact your current situation and well-being.

I believe in tailoring therapy to each individual, because we all have unique personalities, experiences and needs. Finding a therapist who truly resonates with you is essential for a meaningful outcome. My speciality lies in being able to sit with clients through their emotional pain, offering support as we make sense of it

My Professional Commitment

To provide the highest standard of care, I engage in regular supervision with an experienced counselling supervisor. This supervision helps me maintain a balanced and professional approach to my work. I am committed to ongoing professional development and participate in workshops and training courses to continuously enhance my skills and knowledge.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I strictly adhere to its ethical framework and standards, ensuring that all our work together is conducted with integrity and professionalism. I also hold full professional indemnity insurance, and a comprehensive DBS check for your peace of mind.

Please Just Ask

If you have any questions or would like to arrange an initial short telephone conversation that is completely free of charge and carries no obligation for you to proceed then please reach out to me. I will endeavour to respond to your email or text within 24 hours.

Thank you for considering me as your counsellor. I'm here to support you on your journey towards inner peace and personal growth.

Training, qualifications & experience

A life-changing event introduced me to counselling for the first time. After the sudden loss of a loved one, I found navigating my grief deeply challenging. Being offered a safe space to explore my emotions in confidentiality allowed me a path to healing. Counselling made a profound impact on my life, so much so in fact, that I trained to become a counsellor. As a mature counsellor, I bring the richness of life experience to my practice, whether this is your first time seeking help or you're continuing on your path to well-being, you are not alone.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
