About me

The most enlightened of us have challenges from time to time.

Illness, bereavement, loss, anxiety, grief, separation, endings, beginnings, trauma and any changes in circumstances can be challenging for us. As an Integrative Counsellor and Therapist I hold a safe space for you as we work through all that you are experiencing. Whatever you bring is welcome and will be held tenderly, as you find your way forward. The challenges, sometimes overwhelming, of everyday life are exactly where we do our work, and counselling can support you through these times and help you draw on your own resources.

Taking time to find a therapist you feel comfortable with is key to successful therapy.

I'm an experienced Integrative Counsellor who's helped clients make changes in their lives for 18 years.

My training in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Life Coaching, Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness and the Breath, Wholeness Work, Trauma, Spiritual Counselling and Person Centred Counselling enables me to bring a range of skills and approaches so we can work in a way that's right for you.

We can work via Zoom or phone, or face-to-face in my room in Falmouth, or by 'walk and talk' or coffee shop coaching in Winchester.

My website gives you the opportunity to explore more about me and the way I work and I always welcome feedback www.soulservice.co.uk

I hold two concessionary places for people who need therapy but for whom finance is a barrier. Please feel welcome to enquire about these.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm an experienced Integrative Counsellor who's helped clients make changes in their lives for 18 years.

My training in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Life Coaching, Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness and the Breath, Wholeness Work, Trauma, Spiritual Counselling and Person Centred Counselling enables me to bring a range of skills and approaches so we can work in a way that's right for you.

My therapeutic work with a team of doctors and other practitioners, as well as my personal experience of recovery from severe ME/CFS has given me unique skills for working with functional somatic syndromes (real illnesses which do not seem to have pathology and medical treatment paths)

I also hold an MA in Sociology and English and a Certificate in Education. My background is teaching, and I've specialised in working with neurodiverse teenagers.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I offer a free-of-charge 20 minute initial session, either face-to-face, or via Zoom or phone. This gives us time to explore a little about your reasons for looking for therapy, to get to know each other and see if we feel a 'good fit'. Finding the right therapist is a key part of working successfully together.

A single full 1 hr session costs £55.

Many of my clients go on to choose a package of 4 x 1 hr sessions for £200.

I have two low-cost places at £15 for those with no income or on income-related benefits. Please talk to me if finance is an issue for you and we can explore options.

A first session with me:

I offer a free-of-charge 20 minute initial session, either face-to-face or via Zoom or phone. This gives us time to explore a little about your reasons for looking for therapy, to get to know each other and see if we feel a 'good fit'. Finding the right therapist is a key part of working successfully together.

Some clients prefer to simply fill in my initial assessment form and go straight to a first full hour paid-for session.

If you're coming to see me face-to-face in Falmouth I can give you directions, explain where you're coming to, send photos of the room and provide any other information that would help you feel comfortable coming to the first session.

I offer walk and talk, or coffee shop coaching in Winchester.

I can text or email a Zoom link to you before our meeting.

My normal practice is to text all my clients on Sunday to remind them of their appointment the following week, and to send a Zoom link if required.
