About me
Hi. Maybe something has been sitting with you for a while... A feeling you can’t quite name, patterns you keep finding yourself in, ongoing anxiety or overwhelm, low self-confidence that quietly shapes how you move through life, or a quiet sense that you’re not okay, but you’re not sure you have the right to say so.
Life can be challenging, and many of us were never taught how to understand or work through what we feel. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step. You don’t have to do it on your own.
I’m Jules, a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I offer a steady, compassionate space where we can begin to make sense of what’s going on, explore what matters, and find a way forward together.
You might recognise yourself here:
The high-functioning achiever
From the outside, you look like you’re managing. Inside, your inner critic is relentless. Slowing down feels like failing, and asking for help feels like weakness. Whether you’re in a high-pressure environment or hold yourself to exhausting standards, you don’t have to keep white-knuckling it.
The quiet overthinker
Racing thoughts. Second guessing yourself. Worrying you’re a burden. You may have talked yourself out of getting support more than once, saying, “other people have it worse.” But your experience is real, and it matters. You think deeply, feel a lot, and often hold things in on your own.
The burned-out helper
You’re the one people rely on. The capable, steady one. But it’s getting harder to keep going. You give a lot, but your own needs have slipped down the list. Now you’re exhausted, maybe resentful, and not quite sure what to do with that.
You may find yourself carrying responsibility for other people’s emotions and wellbeing, especially in close relationships, conflict, or family stress.
The minimiser (“it wasn’t that bad”)
You’re not sure your past counts as trauma. But something doesn’t quite add up. Your reactions feel stronger than you expect, and you doubt your own feelings. You may carry experiences from earlier life or difficult periods, that don’t always feel big enough to name, but still affect you day to day.
The one carrying loss or change
You may be adjusting to a loss, ending, or significant change that still shapes how you feel. Even if life looks fine on the outside, internally, something feels different.. as though you’re still finding your footing after what has happened.
The curious explorer
There’s no crisis. You’re simply interested in understanding yourself more deeply. You want to notice patterns, improve relationships, and show up differently in your life. Therapy isn’t only for rock bottom; it can be deeply meaningful at any stage.
What's different about working with me
I’m trained in a range of approaches and tailor my work to you, rather than working from a one-size-fits-all model.
At the heart of my work is the belief that the relationship itself matters. Not just being listened to, but being genuinely met.
We work collaboratively, and your voice matters in how we do that.
We go at your pace. There’s no pressure to go further or faster than feels right for you.
I offer a space where you can explore what’s going on without judgement. No thought, feeling, or part of you is unwelcome. Together, we can begin to understand different parts of yourself, including the ones you may struggle with, with curiosity rather than shame.
I welcome neurodivergent clients, including those who may be autistic or navigating differences in how they experience the world.
I am trained in the Rewind Technique, which can be a gentle and effective approach for working with trauma, phobias, and anxiety, where appropriate. It supports processing in a contained way, without needing to relive the experience in detail or become overwhelmed.
I work from a trauma-sensitive, holistic perspective, and may also integrate breath and body awareness, psychoeducation, and mindfulness where helpful.
I can also offer therapy from a Christian perspective, for those for whom faith is part of how they understand themselves and the world.
Testimonials
“Jules is an outstanding therapist; kind, intuitive, empathetic, and highly knowledgeable. She provides invaluable support, a steady, grounding presence, and a space solely for me. I feel safe to open up with her and be truly heard.”
“Jules listened, challenged me when I needed it, encouraged me, guided me through numerous challenges, and taught me skills and processes that I have implemented into everyday life.”
“If I’m honest, I didn’t really think that counselling would make much difference. How wrong was I!!! Thank you Jules, for not judging me, for letting me speak honestly and openly, and for your understanding and empathy. I am certain that without my sessions, I would not be where I am now… Jules saw me through one of the darkest times of my life, and I honestly can’t thank her enough.”

I am a Registered member of BACP (No. 417124), working within their guidance and ethical framework. I also receive regular clinical supervision and undertake continued professional development to ensure the quality of my work. I also carry professional liability insurance cover and am ICO Registered.
Before retraining as a therapist, I spent many years working in the creative sector, until my own experience of therapy inspired me to train and support others. I understand how challenging the journey of mental health can be, and this experience has deepened my empathy and passion for supporting others through their own hardships.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
