About me

We all have times when we need someone to listen to us with kindness and acceptance. I offer a sanctuary for you to come and to be comfortable to talk about whatever is on your mind and heart.

The model of counselling I am trained in and believe in is called Psychosynthesis which is a beautiful combination of the psychological with the spiritual. It concentrates on what lies beneath and beyond your suffering; what is it that is trying to emerge in order that you can grow into more of the person you were created to be? What are some of the roadblocks that may be stopping you from proceeding on your journey through life? These are some of the things that we may look at together.

Psychosynthesis is a creative model of counselling which includes the imagination and looking at shadow work through what we call 'subpersonalities', the parts of us which are hidden and often unknown to us. By getting to know these different parts, we can come in to a place of self-compassion and greater self-awareness.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a professional qualified and insured psychosynthesis counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As a psychosynthesis counsellor, I am able to tailor my approach to the individual needs of my clients, as everyone is unique and we all have different ways of processing our emotions and thoughts.

I offer online counselling and telephone counselling to clients located anywhere within the UK and face to face appointments from my private counselling room near Tiverton in Devon. I work with adults over the age of 18 either on a long-term or short-term basis according to your individual needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
