About me
Types of Issues that I work with
Sometimes we all need a safe place to talk simply because we are human and life can be tough. I am passionate about supporting you to become happy and comfortable with who you are so that you can better cope with whatever comes your way.
I offer short and long term support with many issues including feeling sad, generalised anxiety disorder and depression, the effects of past and recent traumas, phobias, panic attacks, family issues and many more.
About me and what types of counselling I offer
I am 50 with a family and love the outdoors and animals. I have previously worked in education and farming and so have a particularly good understanding of the pressures in these jobs. I offer therapy to adults, teenagers and children.
- face to face talk therapy
- phone sessions
- video call sessions
- walk and talk outside (well behaved dogs on leads welcome)
- animal assisted therapy with my dog.
- creative activiites such as sandplay (allowing the expression of emotions that are hard to put into words)
Theoretical Approaches
I am an integrative counsellor because I incorporate different counselling approaches in my work:-
- Person Centered Therapy
- Gestalt Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Transactional Analysis (TA)
I see these approaches as simply offering different perspectives on life because different ways of looking at things at different times can be beneficial.
Above everything, how comfortable you feel working with me is the most crucial factor. This is why I offer you a free first session with no obligation to continue.
Where I am based
I am based in North Devon near Holsworthy, aprox. 1/2 hr from Bude, Bideford, & Launceston and work with adults, adolescents & children.
