About me

I am an integrative counsellor, who enjoys working creatively to bring awareness, change and empowerment to the challenges we all face in our lives.

There are times in life when, however capable we normally are, there are situations that become challenging and overwhelming. This can lead to anxiety, stress, anger or apathy.

During these times it can help to talk to someone outside of your family or friendship group in a confidential therapeutic setting.

I offer a calm, non-judgemental space for you to explore your issues, boost your self esteem and help you to achieve your goals in life.

Some of the outcomes clients have achieved include;

  • Boundaried, authentic relationships.
  • The ability to navigate stress, anxiety and loneliness.
  • Overcoming fears or bereavement.
  • Making sense of loss or phobias.
  • Reducing feelings of pressure at work.
  • Developing a healthy relationship to anger.
  • Improving self-esteem and achieving goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am Jude, a professionally qualified counsellor, with a postgraduate diploma in psychosynthesis counselling.

I trained at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London and have ongoing clinical supervision for my work.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework.

In my practice, I use a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to suit the needs of each individual client and may draw on techniques including guided imagery, meditation, gestalt therapy, family systems, breathwork, journaling and creative dialogue. I also pay attention to physical sensations and may use body awareness techniques and movement in our work.

No matter how stuck or impossible a situation may seem, I believe it holds potential for healing and growth.

Background

Before setting up my practice, I was a Human Resources professional and  an engineer working in the construction industry. I was always drawn to the people side of these careers hence it is no surprise I finally listened and trained as a counsellor.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
