About me

Hello, I’m Josh, and I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can talk openly and feel heard without judgement.

There may be many reasons you are looking for counselling. You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low in mood, stuck, disconnected from yourself, or unsure how to make sense of what you are experiencing. You may be navigating difficult relationships, identity, loss, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, or life changes. Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to face it alone.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that the therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change. I aim to offer a safe and steady space where we can explore your experiences at your pace, with curiosity, respect, and care.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. This means our work together can be shaped around your individual needs, rather than expecting one single way of working to fit everyone. I believe counselling can support you in developing greater self-understanding, recognising patterns, processing difficult emotions, and finding ways forward that feel more authentic and manageable.

I have a particular interest in working with people who may feel misunderstood, over-pathologised, or unsure where they fit. I aim to work in an affirming, inclusive, and non-judgemental way, respecting each person’s identity, background, and lived experience.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, especially if you are not sure what to expect. You are welcome to come as you are. There is no pressure to have the “right” words or to know exactly where to begin. Together, we can gently explore what is going on for you and what support might look like.

If you feel I may be the right counsellor for you, please feel free to get in touch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
