About me
I'm a psychodynamic psychotherapist registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), offering psychotherapy in Brighton & Hove and online.
People come to therapy for many reasons. You might be struggling with a feeling of loneliness, depression or lacking meaningful connection in your life. Alternatively, perhaps you find intimacy, jealousy or envy in relationships difficult to cope with. Those I tend to work with find themselves in push and pull patterns with others, that can leave them with feelings of anger, guilt and loneliness.
My approach is psychodynamic, which means that I'm interested not only in what is happening in the present, but also in how past experiences and learnings may continue to shape the way you think, feel and relate to others.
Many of the ways we learn to manage ourselves and our relationships begin early in life and operate largely outside our awareness. While these patterns may once have served a purpose, they can become limiting, contributing to emotional difficulties much later in life.
Psychotherapy provides an opportunity to explore these patterns and develop a deeper understanding of yourself. Rather than focusing on advice or techniques for symptoms, the work involves exploring the deeper roots of these emotions to create longer-lasting change and growth.
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties. Some of my key areas of interests include:
- Relationship issues – jealousy, envy or insecurity
- Feelings of loneliness and lacking connection
- Sexual problems or sexual dysfunction
- Obsessive behaviours, thoughts and perfectionism
- Depression and negative thoughts
I offer both short-term and open-ended psychotherapy, once or twice weekly. Sessions take place in person in Brighton & Hove or online.
My first step is generally an initial consultation, which provides an opportunity for us to think together about what has brought you to therapy and whether working together feels right.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
