About me
I specialise in helping Adults of all ages navigate the ongoing, often debilitating, and relentless cycles of Generalised Anxiety Disorder, or GAD as it is commonly called. You've tried so hard to manage these feelings; maybe CBT or other types of therapy, you're burnt out, and nobody seems to really understand you. These are very common themes.
Taking the step towards meaningful and effective therapy can be a truly life-changing and uplifting experience. Starting therapy might also make you anxious, maybe about what to expect, but remember, real change often starts with that first brave step. Finding a therapist who truly resonates with you and understands your world is so important. Many of my clients say, 'I'm anxious, but I'm not sure why,’ and that’s okay. Anxiety can come from many different parts of life. It's often layered through our lives, making it difficult to reach and treat. So it demands a therapist who sees “you “, not avoids you, or is unskilled in treating these feelings.
As Psychodynamic therapists, we know that evidence shows we carry certain elements within us, stored in our unconscious mind. Sometimes we act out particular roles without even realising why, drawn to certain things or people. The things we learn early in life can replay in ways that feel overwhelming or confusing as adults, leading you to repeat familiar patterns that no longer serve you, yet often you don’t understand why. This can cause shame, suffering, and self-criticism.
I am genuinely passionate about recognising and supporting the struggles you’re facing right now. Your identity is shaped by many influences, from culture to relationships and society. I will help you build a deeper understanding of yourself. Together, we’ll work towards helping you live more authentically and independently. While this journey can sometimes be difficult and painful, it’s also incredibly rewarding and freeing. As you uncover those hidden parts of yourself and reconnect, hopefully, you will find a renewed sense of energy and vitality. Please remember, your emotions are vital messages; they’re an essential part of you. Society might sometimes make you feel guilty for experiencing feelings, but embracing them together with an experienced therapist is a powerful step towards your well-being.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I work both privately as a therapist and at a large charity-based counselling centre in Taunton and at The Mulberry Rooms in Newton Abbot. I work psychodynamically and integratively, and I strongly believe in face-to-face sessions because they offer a more humanistic experience. Though online platforms are readily available. I adhere to and am bound by the BACP Ethical Framework (2018); see my link below.

I offer a 25-minute introductory face-to-face meeting. This is a free opportunity to meet together and discuss what you need from our session. It's also important that it feels right for you as the client. If you feel the wish to work together, we will arrange a first session where we will discuss our journey together and lay out the contracting processes.
