About me

Hi and welcome to my page. My name is Jonathan Beeley. I am a specialist adult and child depression, anxiety and trauma focused CBT Psychotherapist. Thank you for taking the time to read this and other profiles; it is one of the best ways of making sure you find the right therapist for you.

My background:

I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, delivering therapy online. I have vast experience of working therapeutically with people who are experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties; from anxiety to depression to complex trauma. Having a background working in the NHS and private healthcare sector, I now work in both private practice and the public sector. Working as a mental health professional with adults, older adults and young people, I have become skilled in working with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, as well as host of difficulties which can make life feel increasingly unmanageable and acutely difficult. You can see lots of examples of these below.

I have specialist training in the most up-to-date evidence based psychological therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Solution Focused Therapy.

How I work:

I am experienced in the delivery of psychological therapies that address a vast scope of emotional and behavioural difficulties. Providing a compassionate approach grounded in evidence. I offer you the most effective psychological therapy, tailor-made to match your unique needs and difficulties to create a therapeutic journey where you feel both supported and empowered.

What to expect:

I completely understand how difficult it can be taking the first steps in finding a therapist who is right for you, and how worrying beginning your therapy journey can be. As an experienced Psychotherapist with many years of experience working in mental health, including with complex care teams in NHS, my approach to therapy is client-centred, compassionate, honest and collaborative, to help you feel safe, in control and heard.

I place great importance on the development of a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship; the key to our work’s success. In the first few sessions, we will work together to identify your goals for treatment and the most helpful and appropriate way to achieve these. Throughout our therapy process, I will work with you to help you develop a better understanding of your difficulties. We will learn strategies and skills that you can use to help you reduce your worries and difficulties and to protect yourself against similar difficulties in the future. During therapy, we will frequently review our progress to make sure things are moving in the right direction, and to discuss anything that we think we would like to change about the work.

How I can help:

My clinical practice is strongly evidence-based and I draw on a range of therapeutic models according to the particular needs and preferences of each individual client. I use predominantly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in combination with techniques from other models including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

As the Strategic Head of Mental Health for an education Trust I also specialise in working with young people and adults, helping them to understand their experiences and working alongside them to help them create a happier world within which to live. Before becoming a Psychotherapist, my decade and a half working as a qualified Teacher means I am skilled at working with young people, parents and guardians.

I have vast experience working directly with teaching professionals, helping them understand and reduce mental health difficulties, many of which arise from or are exacerbated by working in one of the most challenging work environments. This includes working with difficulties such as low mood, anxiety, including OCD, and trauma stemming from their roles.

As an Organisational Psychologist, I have a continual drive to progress and remain innovative using an innate, research driven passion. I have an extensive background working in psychology teams in the NHS, education and private sectors with Top 10 international blue-chip companies; where I have created game-changing projects to positively impact on workplace key performance indicators and well-being through sympathetic, organic, cultural change.

I will look forward to hearing from you and starting our journey together.

Best wishes,

Jonathan
