About me

Hi there, my name is Jody (she/her) and I am a psychosexual therapist. I empower individuals, couples and people in multi-partnered relationships  to explore, learn about and/or improve elements of their sexual experiences and expression. Are you experiencing a sexual problem? I could be the therapist for you.

I use an integrative blend of different therapeutic techniques to tailor the therapy experience to you and your unique needs in a sensitive, informed, and empowering way.

Your sessions will always be paced in a way that aligns with your comfort and motivation levels, ensuring that you are getting the most out of our time together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I work in the NHS as a psychosexual therapist and have worked at two different Relate centres in the UK; I gained my MSc in Contemporary Psychosexual Therapy after working in the mental health field for 10 years. I regularly attend training events, workshops, and webinars (in addition to doing lots of reading!) to ensure that my skills and knowledge base is kept relevant, diverse and current.

As a trauma informed psychosexual therapist, I am aware that many people have experienced significant life events that can impact on both physical and psychological function, and that this can then impact on sexual relationships with other people as well as yourself. I am also aware of the impacts that social and cultural differences, oppressive narratives and external power structures can have on sexual functioning and sense of self and as such, I bring an intersectional lens to my practice.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and as a trans ally, I understand how minority stress, heteronormativity and harmful narratives can negatively impact on sense of self, sexual function and sexual expression. I am a GSRD psychosexual therapist, meaning that I support and celebrate and understand the intricacies of gender, sexuality and relationship diversity both within the therapy space and beyond it.

I am a kink-experienced and kink-affirming psychosexual therapist, meaning that I have a deep understanding and non-judgemental stance on sexual practices that fall into the realms of BDSM, Kink and Fetish.

I am a sex-worker affirmative psychosexual therapist and appreciate that consensual, non-exploitative sex work is a valid profession, in whatever form it takes.

I will offer you a warm, sensitive, and productive space to explore your sexual problems, regardless of who you are. If this sounds like what you are looking for, feel free to take a look at my website for more information.
