About me
My name is Jodie Cook, and I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor working with adults, children, and young people in Newent, Gloucestershire.
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, stress, loss, life changes, or simply feeling overwhelmed, reaching out for support is a significant and courageous decision.
I believe that every person deserves a safe, supportive space where they can feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgement. My aim is to provide a warm, comfortable environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I place you at the heart of the therapeutic process, trusting that you are the expert in your own life and help you to gain greater understanding, self-awareness, and confidence in finding your own way forward. I also have experience in using other forms of therapy such as ACT, CBT and Solution Focused Based Therapy.
I have experience working within both counselling agencies and private practice, supporting adults, children, and young people with a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges. This has given me the opportunity to work with people from diverse backgrounds, each bringing their own unique experiences and stories.
I understand that beginning counselling can feel like a big step, and it is completely normal to feel nervous or unsure. My role is to offer a supportive and non-judgemental space where you can be yourself, feel listened to, and explore whatever is important to you.
Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to face it alone. If you would like to find out more or discuss how counselling may be able to help, please feel free to get in touch.
I offer a free 15‑minute telephone call for you to ask any questions you may have and get a sense if I am the right counsellor for you.
