About me

I offer integrative counselling and therapy tailored to meet your needs. In-person sessions are offered in Morpeth and in Gosforth. Online/Phone therapy is available to anyone resident in the UK with a convenient online booking system.

Taking the first step toward therapy is a brave decision. Finding the right person to talk to is the most important part of that journey, and I am here to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can truly be heard.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation via Microsoft Teams or telephone. This is a chance for us to meet, discuss what you are looking for, and help you decide if I am the right therapist for you before committing to a full session.

How I can support You

I provide a safe, confidential space to explore a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. I have extensive experience supporting individuals through:

Emotional Wellbeing & Mental Health

Helping you navigate the weight of Anxiety and Depression, and working to rebuild your sense of Low Self-Esteem.

Healing from Relational History

Supporting those who have experienced Historic Abuse or Neglect, whether in childhood or within adult relationships. I also work with those experiencing current Conflict in Relationships or Family Conflict. (Please note: I work with individuals only; I do not offer couples therapy).

Navigating Change & Stress

Providing tools to manage Workplace Stress and Career Burnout, as well as supporting you through the painful process of Divorce, Relationship Breakups, or significant Life Transitions.

My Approach

I practice as an Integrative Therapist. This means I don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach. Instead, I adapt my methods to meet your specific goals, blending the empathy of Person-Centred Therapy with the practical insights of Transactional Analysis (TA) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Practice Description

1. Initial Consultation (Free) I offer a free 15-minute consultation via Microsoft Teams or telephone. This is a chance for us to meet, discuss what you are looking for, and help you decide if I am the right therapist for you before committing to a full session.

2. The First Session In our first full session, we will explore the background of what has brought you to therapy. This ensures that the support I offer is perfectly tailored to your needs. If we both feel that we are a good fit, we can then arrange a regular schedule.

3. Ongoing Sessions

Frequency: Usually weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs.

Duration: Each session lasts 50 minutes.

Duration of Therapy: There is no "one size fits all." Some clients find clarity in just a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. We will review our progress regularly to ensure therapy continues to work for you.

Location: In-person therapy is  offered in Morpeth, Northumberland or Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Online video and phone therapy is available to anyone resident in the UK and can be arranged by contacting me directly or through a convenient online booking portal that can be accessed through my website.

I am registered to provide counselling/psychotherapy for health insurance providers (Bupa, AXA Health and Aviva)

My path as a therapist began in 2010. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people through the NHS, mental health charities, and Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP). Beyond the therapy room, I have managed a counselling service and led a team of counsellors, facilitated mental health support groups and courses. This has given me a deep understanding of the diverse ways we face and overcome mental health challenges.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
