About me
Hello, my name is Joanna.
I am a qualified counsellor who genuinely cares about being alongside people when life feels heavy, confusing, or too difficult to face alone. I understand that the decision to seek counselling and psychotherapy often comes from a place of pain, feeling lost, or deep exhaustion. This is why creating a sense of psychological safety and ensuring you are truly heard is at the heart of my practice.
I am human, just like you. I have my own experiences, emotions, and struggles that have shaped me over the years. Some have given me strength, while others simply helped me survive. Like many of us, I am still on my own journey. I am learning how to live more mindfully and authentically, and this personal path allows me to meet my clients with humility, empathy, and without judgement.
My Experience and Approach
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to learn deeply from the inspiring people I meet. My professional background and personal experiences strongly influence how I accompany individuals through their therapeutic process.
I have many years of experience supporting those who have lived through difficult and painful life events. I specialise in helping people affected by:
- Trauma and Domestic Abuse
- Loss and Bereavement (Grief Counselling)
- Anxiety and Agoraphobia
- Eating Disorders
- Feeling overwhelmed, lost, or disconnected
I believe that the experiences we carry, especially those we never had the safety to process, shape our lives in ways we may not fully understand. Therapy provides a gentle space where these experiences are explored, understood, and integrated.
Walking Alongside You
As your counsellor, my role is to walk alongside you. I do not tell you what to do or who to be. We work together, at your pace, focusing on what feels most important to you in the present moment. I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to support you in reconnecting with yourself, rebuilding safety, and regaining a sense of control.
I have extensive experience working with reputable organisations such as Ty Elis, Thrive Women’s Aid, and Cruse Bereavement Support, helping individuals navigate trauma, abuse, grief, and significant life changes.
A Safe Space for Change
I offer a safe, calm, and welcoming environment where you can simply be yourself. It is a place to speak openly about thoughts and feelings, even those that are difficult to put into words. Building a genuine therapeutic relationship is the core of my work. I bring empathy and presence to each session, ensuring you feel seen, heard, and accepted.
My practice is guided by your individual needs. I value difference and uniqueness, and I view each person through the lens of their relationships, culture, and personal life story.
If you are feeling lost or unsure where to turn, you do not have to face it alone. We can take things one step at a time, together.
You are warmly invited to get in touch to arrange an initial meeting.

Client's experience
Dear Joanna
Thank you for everything you’ve done for me. When I first came to see you , I was in a very dark and scary head spacebar you showed me the light and thought me to be kinder to myself , something I will continue to work on everyday.
Thank you for giving me a safe space to explore me feelings and for never making me feel worried to be honest, I thought I’d be brave enough to talk to someone of me hardest thoughts, but you always made me feel comfortable.
Thank you for exploring my roller coaster of life with me, and helping me realise that my struggles with mental health are valid but it’s never too late to make positive changes in our lives. Since we start ed our sessions I have allowed myself be kinder to myself, my body and my inner child. I started volunteering with the Brownies, enjoying my hobbies again, made new friend, and taught myself to say nice things to myself. None of this would ‘ve been possible without your support, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your future clients are lucky to have you, good luck on. Your journey!

Client's expereince
When I first started therapy, I felt lost and was struggling with depression and intense anxiety. I couldn't believe that things could ever get better. Through Joanna's warmth, kindness, and the safe space she created, I slowly began to find myself again, one step at a time.
Today, I look at life with more hope and a greater sense of peace. I am deeply grateful for the support, understanding, and care I received throughout my journey.
