About me

Hello, I am trained as a Personal Consultant - which means that I am qualified as a counsellor and coach. Research has shown that Personal Consultancy offers a greater post intervention success rate than traditional counselling. Many of my clients come to see me because they find that traditional counselling does not work for them, they want techniques and interventions to move them forward as well as a space to express themselves. My way of working with my clients is to fully immerse myself in the clients experience - so I understand how you feel and how you see your world, then we look at ways of making the changes you wish to see and how you can maintain them.  I work with clients with a whole host of issues, including but not limited to depression, self esteem, anxiety, childhood issues, workplace coaching, spiritual exploration and overwhelm.

I hold a masters degree in Personal Consultancy and also have over 20 years of experience working in a corporate environment to Vice President level, which allows me to understand issues around working in the City of London and big organisations and how to overcome these.

I am trained to work at depth and to work within all timescales - past, present and future. If you are looking for long lasting, recognisable change, I can help you achieve this. Many of my clients are funded for coaching by their employer. Since the beginning of the pandemic I have moved from my central London office to working online. Many people prefer the flexibility of online sessions.

Apart from my own private practice - I also am a Director of Blackwood Consultants and work with organisations to provide support, coaching, therapy and training to their staff. I have also co-founded a charity offering low cost counselling and wellbeing programmes in East London.

I offer a free 30 minute telephone consultation to discuss how we can work together and offer a chance to see if I am a good fit for you.

I am a member of the BACP and the AICTP and am fully insured.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
