About me

Since I began my counselling journey I have helped many people deal with the difficulties life throws at us. No one is immune from problems, from the past or in the present.  Getting support is a hard step (I know,  I've been there!!) I offer a non-judgemental, confidential and safe space for you to explore and work through your issues. I work safely and ethically and always have your best interests at heart.  I believe we all have the answers inside us and with a little help, a good therapist can help us find the solutions that are best for us. I work face to face in a comfortable and confidential room and provide therapy for individuals and couples. As therapy can be a daunting experience,  you  have the option to have online sessions via WhatsApp and Zoom.  there is also the option, If you live local to Lancashire, to have your counselling/ therapy  take place in the beautiful Sunnyhurst Woods, as I believe that being in nature can often help us to connect with our feelings and see things more clearly.

I offer a 20 minute free  telephone session before you commit to therapy. Alternatively can have a 30 minute face to face session for £20.00. This will enable us to establish a connection and decide if we can form a good working relationship.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
