About me
I am a qualified counsellor offering online and face-to-face counselling in Brighton. I particularly enjoy working with women and LGBTQ+ clients in their 20s, 30s and 40s, offering a warm, inclusive and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself.
I have a particular interest in anxiety, stress, burnout, overwhelm, self-esteem, and relationships. You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin, or even know exactly what you want to talk about. Sessions are guided by you, at your own pace, with my support.
My approach is warm, compassionate and grounded. I believe counselling can provide a space to pause, be heard, make sense of what you're experiencing and come home to yourself. I won't tell you what you should do, but will work alongside you to explore what feels important and find approaches that work for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor with a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice (Level 5) and am an Accredited Registrant with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
I work from a pluralistic approach, drawing on person-centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic ideas. This allows our work to be adapted to your individual needs, preferences and goals rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
My particular areas of interest include anxiety, stress, burnout, overwhelm, self-esteem, and relationships. I also have an interest in the experiences of LGBTQ+ clients, including identity, belonging, relationships and the pressures that can come with navigating the world as an LGBTQ+ person.
Where appropriate, I may draw on mindfulness and meditation practices, as well as practical tools and strategies, to support greater self-awareness, grounding and emotional wellbeing.
I am committed to ongoing professional development, reflective practice and working in accordance with the NCPS ethical framework.
