About me
Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or struggling with low self-esteem? You may be stuck in patterns that feel difficult to change, affecting your relationships or stopping you from achieving your potential. Counselling can help you gain greater understanding and support, and find a way forward.
I offer a warm, compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted for who you are.
My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what is best suited to you. This includes CBT, compassion-focused approaches and mindfulness, alongside a strong person-centred foundation. We might explore patterns in your thoughts and emotions, develop practical ways of responding differently, or simply make space for experiences that have been difficult to carry alone.
I have a particular interest in working with women experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, perfectionism, grief, and life transitions. As a therapist with ADHD, I also bring a warm, neurodiversity-affirming perspective for women who are autistic, have ADHD, or who are exploring what late discovery might mean for them
I offer therapy in person in Leith, Edinburgh, as well as online.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Groupwork from Abertay University and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the Open University.
My training is integrative and draws on person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and mindfulness.
Alongside my private practice, I work as a bereavement counsellor at a local hospice. I have also facilitated community groups for women affected by low self-esteem.
I am a practising Buddhist and leader within my local Buddhist community. My Buddhist practice has given me a longstanding interest in mindfulness, compassion and the ways we relate to difficult thoughts and emotions.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in financial services, where I specialised in supporting vulnerable customers and providing mental health education and support to colleagues.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Taking the first step
Finding the right counsellor can be challenging, particularly if you haven't had therapy before. I offer a free 15-minute online consultation so that we can meet, talk briefly about what is bringing you to counselling, and see whether I might be a good fit for you.
Sessions are 50 minutes and are available in person from my comfortable, private therapy room in Leith, or online.
You don't need to know exactly what you want to work on before getting in touch. We can begin wherever you are.
