Jessie Cahn MA, PGDip, BACP
I work both in the charitable sector and in private practice. This has given me valuable experience of working with people from all walks of life coping with a broad spectrum of issues.
I offer integrative therapy which means I can draw from different approaches in order to listen more effectively to your individual experience. My practice is non-judgemental and based upon equality. I am committed to an open dialogue with my clients where we can work together to try to find meaning and understanding in your individual experience.
Frequently asked questions:
If I start therapy do I have to commit for years?
No you don't. I offer short and long term therapy. Ultimately you decide when you would like to end therapy as part of an ongoing and open conversation.
I am not sure whether I really need therapy?
Sometimes it is worth starting therapy to understand whether you think the process will be useful to you or not. we can work together to understand this.
How will I know if you are right for me?
Book a trial appointment to see whether you feel comfortable with the therapist. Different people want different things from the process. I offer an initial consultation where we can talk about what you feel would be useful to you. You can then consider whether you would like to begin working with me.
Will you put me under pressure to talk about things that I do not want to?
Definitely not. My practice is based upon equality and connection. We will go at the pace that you set and that feels safe for you. Part of the ongoing process of us developing our working alliance is around understanding your pace.
If you have any other questions or would like to discuss making an appointment please e mail me or call me. Similarly if you have no idea what you are looking for but you know you need some support please get in touch.
