About me
I am an Art Psychotherapist qualifying in 2010 with 16 years experience. My career has largely been in Primary and Secondary education working to deliver services within the school system. After a spell lecturing at a University I now deliver Art Psychotherapy sessions online. I work with adults and children who are experiencing a plethora of challenges. I work in a person centred way using images and making as a tool to connect and communicate. You do not need to enjoy or be good at art to benefit from the sessions. Some experiences and feelings are beyond words and Art Psychotherapy can enable us to reflect and process in an entirely different way.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an MA in Art Psychotherapy from Northern Programme. I have an additional MA from Leeds University and a BA from Lancaster University. I also have a BACP Certificate in Counselling Skills. I have 16 years of experience working as an Art Psychotherapist and Lecturing in related field.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Additional information
I work on a sliding scale in order to try to accommodate different circumstances. These fees are for online work only. We can arrange to work in person locally and this would be subject to room hire costs.
