Person Centred Counsellor, MBACP

About me

I'm a Person Centred counsellor with almost 2 decades of experience in charitable, public sector & counselling roles, supporting vulnerable adults, young people and families. This allows me a deep understanding of and empathy for the challenges and difficulties of people I meet. I use my expertise and training as a counsellor to support you in making sense of what life throws your way.

I sit in the counsellor chair today, but I began where you are - staring at a stranger's smile beaming out of my screen and wondering 'can this person help me?' The decision to contact that smiling stranger was one I never regretted. Today I'm passionate about the power of counselling and the value it can bring to all our lives.

I love my work and being able to connect with you, as your counsellor, would be an honour and a privilege. I always strive to create a warm, friendly and non-judgemental space for you, a place of safety where you can begin to untangle difficult or painful thoughts, feelings and experiences. We move at your pace, exploring in the way that feels best for you.

  • BSc (Hons) Degree in Psychology.

  • Alongside my private practice I work at a local community counselling service and have spent time volunteering for Shout crisis line.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
