MBACP Accredited Counsellor, PG Dip, B.Sc. Hons

About me

Hello and a very warm welcome. My name’s Jenny, I’m an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor with more than 14 years’ in clinical practice, and I’m fully accredited by BACP.

What I can help with

I specialise in reducing anxiety and depression, increasing self-confidence and self-esteem, improving relationships and working through loss. I have also worked substantially with career issues, life transitions and traumatic events.

My approach is based on creating a safe space for you to share what’s troubling you, work through unresolved issues and gain new perspectives to make the changes you feel are right for you. I value connection and trust, which makes it possible to work through difficult feelings and find new ways of dealing with challenging situations.

New perspectives and possibilities

How we work will be completely individual to your needs as no life situation is ever experienced in the same way by two different people. I like to understand what’s important to each person and connect at whatever level you feel your life needs attending to. This could mean working through difficult life experiences, tackling unhelpful beliefs or thinking patterns, unpacking relationship issues, processing unresolved feelings or moving forward from a difficult place.

I tend to work in the here-and-now as it’s only in the present that we can make changes, let go of old patterns, painful memories or unhelpful beliefs, and be able to create something different.

I’m happy to discuss any areas of your life that are troubling you. Please call me on 07515 570689 or email me.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
