About me

Hello Im Jen, and something brought you here to this page today.... Maybe you feel you need someone to talk to about what it is you are experiencing and feeling. Someone whose going to be there to support you and work closely alongside you to help make sense of it all. Maybe you are unsure what it is going on for you right now, but you just know you need help...

Quite often people report that after counselling they have felt greater awareness and understanding. Like one of those ' Aha!' moments when you discover something for the first time. This leads to empowerment and gives us a clearer road map of something to work towards. Counselling gives you the space to talk safely and openly in a way you may not have experienced before with friends or family. I will work closely with you and explore different perspectives to help you gain new awareness and understanding. I believe there is more than just the tangible world we experience around us. That there is something deeper going on within us and we hold our own answers there. Exploring with therapy and making connection. with that part of us enables us to be our own best experts.

When we first make contact we can talk about what it is you would like to get from your counselling. This might not be immediately clear for you. So we can discuss whatever you bring and you can choose what you would like to focus on for our work together. If you feel that that what I offer is a good fit then please give me a call and arrange an initial session.

Training, qualifications & experience

I work as an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which means I work with several modalities as one size doesn't fit all, what works for one person may not for another as we are all individual. So working with you we can explore your unique situation and find ways to proceed together.

I work with the whole of you as a person, mind, body, soul ,(gut feelings or sixth sense) , and emotions. For example a sense of numbness or disconnection in any part of you can be useful to explore as it can be an indicator about what is going on for us and how we are experiencing our difficulties.

My qualifications include:

  • CPCAB:-
  • University of London Lev. 6 Clinical Hypnotherapy
  • Level 2 Cert. Counselling Skills
  • Level 3 Cert. Counselling Studies
  • Level 4 Dip. Therapeutic Counselling
  • Level 5 Dip Psychotherapeutic Counselling (comp Jul 21)

As well as an extensive amount of CPD study inc:-

  • Working with young people, Trauma, Domestic Abuse, Mindfullness, Transpersonal studies, Transactional Analysis, couples Training, Art Therapy, and Narcissism.

I work part time in an inner city practice, as well as my own private practice.

I have a background of working in the public sector, service industry and also running my own business for 20 of my 38 years employment.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I also like to work with spirituality and what this might mean for you. I can invite you to work with imagery , pictures , dream work and objects to help you to explore through transpersonal work together and connection to your *inner voice.

*( sometimes called soul, gut feeling or 6th sense).

Working with our 'inner knowing' can gain us further awareness and a deeper understanding of our purpose and our needs.
