About me
People usually come to therapy because there is something they want to change. I offer a warm and friendly talking space where we can explore and identify what this is, using cognitive behaviour therapy ultimately to help you feel better. CBT is a talking therapy which helps people to understand more about how the way we think about ourselves, other people and the world, impacts on our feelings and actions. It is very practical and has lots of tools, techniques and ways of thinking about things. This can really help you to feel better, see things differently and make changes.
CBT is evidence based for many mental health conditions. I am an accredited cognitive behaviour therapist and I am trained to facilitate this for people with common mental health problems, such as low mood/depression and differing forms of anxiety i.e. obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety, generalised anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder.
I am also an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist and a qualified Sensory Integration Practitioner. I have over 14 years of experience working in schools and children's homes with neurodivergent young people. I bring my experience of OT and sensory integration to my CBT practice.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an accredited member of the BABCP. I have a postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies. I have two years of experience in working with people with CBT.
I am also a member of HCPC as a registered Occupational Therapist.
