About me
Welcome! My name is Jeanette and I am a member of the BACP and NCS Accredited counsellor based in Sevenoaks, Kent. I specialise in support and counselling services for children, young people and adults who, have or, are experiencing a wide range of difficulties and issues including family issues.
Counselling provides you with a space to think about, explore and talk about any issues that may be concerning or affecting the quality of your life. Together, we will explore your thoughts and feelings at a pace that feels right for you in a confidential and safe environment. My aim is to help you take greater control of your life so that you feel more content, resilient and able to respond to life's challenges.
I also have a wealth of experience in counselling and therapeutic play techniques working with children and young people with a wide range of personal issues. This therapy is provided in an environment which is safe and supportive, where feelings can be expressed through talking, creative work and therapeutic play. I sometimes incorporate art materials and sensory objects to allow children to communicate and express difficulties in their lives in a way that works and feels comfortable for them.
I have experience in dealing with a range of issues including:
- Depression
- Anxiety and Phobias
- Relationship Difficulties
- Life Transitions
- Difficulties with Self-Esteem
- Eating Issues
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Professional/Career Issues
- College/Graduate School Issues
- Medical and Health Concerns
- Stress Management
- Grief, Loss, or Bereavement
- Family Issues
- Other Issues
How can I help?
As a qualified Integrative Counsellor, I use a wide variety of approaches including CBT, person-centred and Psychodynamic. I combine these approaches according to the client's needs, as I believe no two people or issue can be solved with one process.
I work from the premise that our early experiences have a big influence on who we are today. From the early years, we learn to adapt to our environment, often at the cost of our more creative and unique sides. I see those experiences as powerful forces subconsciously shaping our lives, determining how we are in the world now, how we relate to others and what is the relationship with ourselves.
Therapy provides an opportunity to heal the wounds of the painful disconnections from the past by expressing your truth in a confidential and non-judgemental space. It can be challenging, but it can present opportunities for growth and life that feels more real and satisfying.
I have a DBS enhanced certificate and professional indemnity insurance in place.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.
In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
