About me
I am a qualified integrative counsellor with a person-centred background, available to those in the Hull and East Yorkshire area. I currently work from a beautiful space in Dunswell, and I am able to take advantage of the onsite nature reserve, for Eco Therapy; we can walk and talk in the great outdoors .
I have experience of working with adults, teenagers and young children who have had difficulty coping with anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, anger management, relationship difficulties, bereavement, eating disorders and other issues. I work with adults and young people and children who are neurodiverse ,and I have supported them as they try to find their place in life. I have worked as a Pastoral Manager, working in secondary schools and supporting students through challenging times. I appreciate the difficulties that students experience and how poor mental health impacts on their attendance.
As well as offering my own counselling service I also currently work with an organisation in Hull supporting children, young people and families. I acknowledge the difficulties around high levels of anxiety due to the impact of social media, relationship struggles and the ever-changing world that adults and youngsters try to navigate. I also support families and youngsters in care, as well as those who are adopted.
In my own practice, I am able to offer a walk and talk therapy element to our sessions as I am lucky enough to have access to a small nature reserve, near the office where I work from.
As a person-centred counsellor, I would like to reassure my clients that I am non-judgemental in my approach and clients can expect an honest and trustworthy service where they will be treated respectfully. I hope that clients can find comfort in sharing their anxieties with me and together we can develop a therapeutic relationship to help better understand, and work through those difficult emotions and challenges that life has presented.
When facing difficult times, finding the strength to look for help can feel like a big step, and it is important that your search takes you to someone you can trust. I am a good listener who can provide a safe space to help you feel confident in sharing your problems whilst building a trusting relationship. I look forward in providing the support you need.
I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, which helps to ensure that my work is conducted within a recognised professional ethical framework that protects both counsellor and client.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
