When we are stressed and anxious we can feel lost , afraid and confused. I am here to help you understand and overcome your feelings of anxiety

My work with you as a Counsellor

I use the  person-centred approach to facilitate you in finding what is best for your personal growth. I will allow you to explore your own strengths and personal power by supporting your journey

I can help you find ways to manage your anxiety and to quieten your mind from overthinking

I respect inclusivity and have experience of supporting young adults with specific learning difficulties : ADHD, Aspergers, ASC, Dyslexia

I will provide inclusive ways of working appropriate to your individual processes

I am warm and empathic and offer therapy in a non–judgemental, understanding manner respecting your individuality and autonomy. I will work with you to identify barriers and blocks which may be stopping you on your journey to “Being You”. I hope to help you understand yourself and your feelings with a gentle approach.

I am a registered member of British Association for Counselling and Psycotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework and principles respecting client autonomy at all times.

I offer face to face counselling  sessions which are an hour long and based around your needs. We will work together respecting your individual needs in a safe environment.

There is no limitation on the amount of sessions you have and we work together until you feel ready to move forward

Experience

During my counselling experience I have supported clients of different ages and cultural backgrounds ranging from 16-60 who have struggled to overcome problems in their lives which have affected their wellbeing. My experience includes working with self-harm, anxiety, confidence issues, self-image, eating disorders, abuse and addictions. I have supported clients in finding the first steps forward on a journey to identifying themselves again after experiencing negative events in life. Clients have come to me from a dark place and told me they have felt lighter and more at ease with life after sharing their innermost feelings in a safe place.

My Coaching experience includes supporting clients with social anxiety, depression, low self esteem who have needed motivation in gaining confidence and regaining balance. I have coached university students with assigments, dissertations and time mangement.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
