Janet Neal MBACP (Accredited)
Hello.. and welcome...
I am a BACP accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with 17 years of experience.
I aim to provide confidential, non- judgemental Counselling and Psychotherapy to support you as an individual, as a couple or in group therapy. No problem too small or big!
I am experienced in dealing with a wide range of issues including personal and professional development, relationship issues, generalised and acute anxiety, depression, anger management and other issues( please see list below).
I am also experienced in EAP ; short term Counselling where I work with many employees to deal with issues affecting them at work and regaining lost confidence due to absence.I welcome enquiries from employers( references available) and also those of you in employment and facing difficulties.
Over my seventeen years in practice, I have come to value an integrative approach where I draw Transactional Analysis, Person centred, CBT, Gestalt, Body work and Mindfullness depending on your issue and needs as an individual or couple.
If I work with you as a couple will work with you to increase your awareness of how difficulties between you arise and why they arise.I will identify your strengths and how you would like your relationship to be .I will facilitate communication that helps rather than hinders your relationship .
I also work with couples considering making a long term commitment to each other i.e marriage or living together.

More About Me
I have a background in finance and teaching and done many part time jobs as needs must, starting when I was 13 with a paper round and also included cleaning and door to door sales to name but a few !
I have faced the challenges of changing jobs and career and have experience of working in a high pressured work environment. I have a family with two grown up children and grandchildren. I have experience of juggling work and caring for my family .Several years ago I supported my father throughout a long terminal illness and experienced the painful loss of such a significant relationship.
I have also managed the challenge of separation, divorce and moving on as a single person and into a new long term relationship.
I studied for my English degree and trained to teach while my children were young. I enjoyed and valued my work, empowering my pupils through academic learning. I also became increasingly aware of how I could make a difference to motivation, learning and well being by the way I related and communicated and over time I made the transition and successful career change to a Counsellor and Psychotherapist . I now use my life experience, training and my ongoing commitment to my own personal and professional development to help Adults to learn about themselves and make personal and professional improvements for themselves.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
