About me

I am a qualified Counsellor in both, Person Centred therapy, and CBT (Cognative Behavioural Therapy).

I am 69 years young, and have a wealth of life experiences, dealing with poverty, divorce, anxiety, seperation, dealing with three sons in East London, and diversity,  I also have a "blended family".  I offer counselling to adults 18 and over, and have experience in most aspects of life. I offer a non judgemental and safe place to explore your concerns; I do not advise, but by reflecting and discussing your issues or concerns we can come to a conclusion to help you achieve better mental health.

I also offer psychological "tools" that will help you to eventually "become your own therapist", such as worksheets, simple breathing techniques, look at your behaviour and how it is affecting your and your relationships, whether it be work, partners, children, sibling or any other type of relationship.  Give me a call and we can discuss and plan a better future for ourself.

I alI offer a safe place to discuss your councerns or worries, you need to ensure that you have a safe place to talk, where no one hear or sea you, so that you are free to talk with interuptions.

I have a very naught cat, her name is Waggie, and she will make her prescence known at some point in our sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I am trained as Person Centred Therapist, which means the sessions are about you, and whatever your want to bring into the room, I do not judge and all sessions are confidential.  I am also qualified in CBT (Cognative Behavioural Therapy), it is exciting, as we can combine the styles together, to ensure a better outcome for yourself, and enable you to become your own therapist at the end of the sessions, they are on your terms.
